DECASULT has been retained by the Université de Montréal to provide complete project management services for the redevelopment of large portions of the Roger-Gaudry and Marie-Victorin pavilions of its legacy Mount Royal campus vacated by the relocation of four academic departments of its Faculty of Arts and Sciences to the university’s new MIL campus in Outremont.
For this project, subject to the Quebec government’s Directive sur la gestion des projets majeurs d’infrastructure publique, DECASULT prepared the required pre-feasibility and feasibility studies to confirm government funding requested for the project and supervise the project’s construction work until delivery of the new spaces.
The project, which aims for LEED-NC certification, consists of the complete renovation and redevelopment of 36,848 m2 of teaching and research space, and involves a variety of interventions, including : selective demolition, structural reinforcement work, as well as sustained coordination with parallel building envelope projects – all in the context of occupied buildings, where maintaining current activities during construction is paramount.
