In 2006, DECASULT was retained by Bell Canada to represent it in the construction of its new head office, on Nuns’ Island, in the Montreal borough of Verdun. Bell launched this project in order to centralize its activities and consolidate on a single campus of close to 80,000 m2 of new office space its many facilities in Montreal and a workforce of nearly 4,000 employees previously spread-out across the city. Divided into two phases and five distinct wings, this LEED-certified complex opened its doors in 2009. It brought together on a single site the company’s various units, as well as numerous additional services for its employees, such as 900-person dining room, numerous cafés, a fitness center, a daycare center, a conference center, various retail shops and a 2,000-car underground parking garage.
