This “Growing Up Healthy” major project is LEED certified. It involved modernizing and expanding the Sainte-Justine University Hospital Centre (CHUSJ) with a view to delivering the infrastructure required for a 21st-century academic medicine facility.
The primary components of this collaborative mode (turnkey) project were a research centre, specialized and ultraspecialized care units, the upgrade and redevelopment of existing facilities and the construction of a new underground parking lot.

PRIMARY CHALLENGES
- Complexity of the logistics of planning and delivering in existing facilities of a children’s hospital that remained operational.
- Considerations with regard to controlling noise and dust and restricting the spread of contaminants.
- Access procedures and traffic had to be strictly maintained as a priority and in a safe manner at all times.
