DECASULT was mandated as Independent Certifier (IC) for the first phase of the new Université de Montréal hospital center (CHUM) in downtown Montreal, in a project carried out in public-private partnership (PPP).
The CHUM Research Center (CRCHUM), inaugurated in 2014, comprises two towers of 6 and 15 floors, connected by a footbridge over the Ville-Marie highway and the Champs-de-Mars metro station tunnel. The new complex of more than 33,000 m2 brings together more than 1,300 occupants active in different fields of healthcare research, which were previously dispersed over six other sites in the city.
DECASULT’s mandate as CI was to ensure that the project’s delivery complied with the partnership agreement concluded between the CHUM and its private partner, Accès Santé Montréal. This mandate included active participation in the handling of disputes notified to the CI, as well as the certification of the substantial and final completion milestones of all buildings, and the certification of the project’s progressive milestones.
